so, a mate who rallies zr's and who previously worked for mg came to my rescue, told me the head had been overskimmed and that i needed a new cylinder head, so got one for £220 delivered from a rover...

hey guys, im looking for a new cylinder head/refurbed head, any ideas where i can get one from? (ps. must be a complete head)

unfortunatly its going to need a new engine which quite frankly i have not got the money for or to now pay someone to fit it.. so its going to be part exed for a new car unless someone wants to take...

could the spacer gasket be the problem?

it was skimmed 1mm

how much can safely be skimmed off the head without having to use the saver shim?

yea head was skimmed and head was torqued down correctly

so my run of utter bad luck continues... had a compression test done this morning, cylinders 1+4 are running at 140 lbs, cylinders 2+3 are running at 90lbs... so where do i go from here....?

where would i get a pressure test gauge from?

no pentre in the rhondda, as in right by treorchy... i had hgf on monday, so my mate stripped the engine down in his garage, head needed skimming, so had that done... i had the uprated hg kit and new...

you could be just my man... having a few problems with my zr after a new head gasket fitting... oh and welcome... im from pentre,rhondda in SW

ok so after my recent hgf, having head skimmed etc, new spark plugs, car is running, but its seems really low on power... like its not running right, could the timing be out? before the head gasket...
