    My old ZR

    Chrispyvrs’s MG ZR 105 Build
Why did I buy a ZR? There I was, a 15 year old looking forward to getting my first car, and seeing an MG ZR driving round town and instantly thinking thats the car I wanted as my first car...So the saving up happened, any money that I knew I could live without was put away, in anticipation of affording a little ZR (When the prices were a lot higher). The dream continued, writing little lists of what I’d want my ZR to be like, how to make it my own, if I had this colour etc etc...Many a science lesson wasted!
It was February 2008, 4 months after my 17 birthday and the dream was realised. A pearlescent black ZR 105. It had garish taillights and retrofit electric windows but that didn’t bother me, it was mine. I knew it from the first moment. Looking back, I maybe should have continued waiting for my perfect trophy blue one, but the other ones in the area were all trophy blue!
So this was it, my very first ever picture of the car:

After just being driven back in it a week before my driving test!

So after I passed, a few much wanted modifications happened:

Then, a very bad moment in my first little while of driving whilst getting it round the back of my house in a very tight gap...

It carried on having bits and bobs doing as more came up for sale

First reflection (Danny) Shot (Baring in mind I didn’t have a clue about detailing at the time )

    Armrest purchased and put in:

    Someone getting jealous...

    On lowering springs...

The parcel shelf speakers were already there and then joined by this:

    And these:

Notice the rear lights changing again!

    Happy birthday to me...

    My first ever MG meet...

    Different rear lights...

ZS 180’s picked up locally and cheap as no one had really done it before...

    Front indicators changed...

    Met a very rare ZR

And when I came to sell it:

And then that was the end of the ZR adventure for me...Something in the future when I need a small run around I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to! Thanks for looking!
