Taa muchly, it's getting there slowly, but then, it was ONLY £300 with mot till Jan!

it doesn't show too much in the photos, but the front bumper and fog blanks are actually trophy blue and have been (badly) painted Anthracite, grill being the exception, where they ran out of paint.
Also, I noticed on Saturday, that one of the headlights is a R25 one with the chrome inner, and one is a ZR with the black inner, sourced another ZR headlight for £12 delivered though

Haha I'm using the old repair with duct tape method till I can sort getting it fixed or replaced

Not much to update lately, got a growing pile of parts arriving, but time is lacking.

Did manage to fit a Richbrook Satin Alloy gearknob over the scabby MG one.
Required taking a hacksaw to the original though, it was properly on there!

Plans for this weekend include:

Removing M3 mirrors and fitting OEM electric ones.
Fitting new front grille painted in correct colour.
Fitting a Dark Ice IB5 gearbox linkage bush.
Changing Inlet manifold gasket.
Changing Rocker cover gasket.
Fitting new spark plugs.

Todays progress.....
New spark plugs and rocker cover gasket.
Took the rocker cover off and swore, several times.
Bearing in mind the gasket has the words 'this is top' and 'exhaust manifold here' stamped into it,it was fitted back to front!
Managed to sort the missfire though


That'll cause it to run rough!

I managed to rip the M3 mirrors off and fit some OEM electric units aswell

Loom was pre-installed in the car.
I sourced the door looms at the same as the mirrors.
Fitting was as simple as swapping door looms, plugging in and fitting the mirrors

Hey bud how easy was the whole loom stuff? I'd love electric mirrors etc in my MG how easy is it to see if I have the right loom pre-installed etc? (P.S. Sorry to bombard with questions lol)

Something i'll point out, as it may or may not affect you.
If the donor car is a lucas system (2 button square fob) and the car in use is a pektron (3 button round fob) the driver door loom is ever so slightly different.

The pektron door uses 2 connectors for the drivers door motor, passenger sides are identical either way.
It is possible to pull the wires out of the connector block at the door hinge and insert them into the new loom.
Sounds scary, takes about 15 mins.
If the donor loom only has 1 plug, the car will lock, but not unlock on the fob.
The fob will still work the alarm though.
