Got the cambelt on yesterday in amongst other job.
Turned it over 3/4 times by hand with no plugs in, feels good.
    Checked the marks after

Cams are spot on, timing tool slides in without any grief.
    Couldn't be more perfect.

So close to getting her started up

Cheers, I was hoping to have her running this weekend, but I can't see it happening.

The SAAB valve (also called a Ranco valve) lives on the heater matrix pipes.
It's the plastic T shaped piece in this photo.

The little valve bit in them can fall apart (and block your water pump), and then it won't let hot water pass through to the matrix, so no heat.
The easiest fix is to bin it off altogether and replace with the simpler mk1 pipework.
It's a straight swap and doesn't need any extra bits.

Did a little more on my project headlights last night.
Nowhere near finished, and thankfully the other side will be much easier.

Didnt get a photo of them in place yet as they need a little fettling still.

    Busy evening yesterday.
    One headlight it almost there

    Also picked these up

Going to give them a refurb and paint, most probably in white.

    And this little doohickey arrived.
It's a low fuel light controller, so i can have a light when the tank is low

    Been an eventful few days.

    Polo is now mot ready.
Moredoor ZR snapped a lower engine mount, taking out the gearbox and diff with it.

New box should have arrived today, no sign yet.
Can't get the 17mm bolt out from round the back of the old box, been pulling it apart since 10am, nothing has been straight forward.

Bonus points, found powerflex bushes in the front arms!
