    Far yellow paint?

    Hi guys

I replaced my bumper about 6 months ago(cost 120) and it was silver, me brother sanded it down and got it sprayed on how i red others did it (far is a pain to get the color right to match) well as you will see in the picture is nothing like it should be, more sunset than anything and i did use Far paint.

Would anyone know how i could get this to the real color as its off putting after how much work i've put into my car and not have the bumper match.

don't forget to take into account that the rest of the paint has been exposed to the sun for years and the bumper is fresh paint.

Plus, from most of the yellow Zeds I've seen, they never matched from the factory

Yeah thanks, my brother said that but to be honest the paint on the bumper looks orange more that yellow.

My brother keeps saying oh just use some color restorer as its the body not the bumper but i'm 100% its the bumper that is way off, as i did some plastics inside wih the same paint can and that came out just like the body work.

I'm thinking somethings admiss when doing the bumper for that yellow look.

If i remember(did not to spraying for like 10 years/ used to mod consoles ) was 3 layers of grey and about 3-4 layers of Far yellow 04

I'm thinking i should have grey/white/yellow but people who have got Far as good as never put it in their post on what they used.

I used the carplan spray as it was the only one i could get.

could be the grey primer making the yellow look darker, could be the paint itself.

When we paint r/c car bodies we use white as a last coat to brighten them up, or black to make them dark.

It's mad how much of a difference that can make.

I only tend to use Halfords paint, as much as I dislike Halfords themselves, their paints always been pretty good.

I did you halfords primer, i read it was good so i got some.

You think it be worth taking off and sanding and re spraying? or do what chav's do and just spray over it? I ask as the cars still at my moms and taking the bumper down to mine(15 miles away) would be a pain .

If it was me, and I was going to be painting it again, I'd strip it back to bare and start fresh.

EBay, Gumtree, local FB sites or scrapping sites ie spares247. Probably find one for £50- just needing a polish up. Did for my ZR and I know it's not the same as using your own elbow grease but it can save blood sweat and tears.
