problem with Central locking

so i recently got a 2004 MG ZR+ and need help with my central locking.

When I press unlock or lock on the key the hazard lights flash and the interior light turns on/off (key works fine) however the doors do not unlock or lock.
i checked the central locking fuse and it looks fine.
does anyone know what exactly i need to check or do to make it work?
