Passenger door won't unlock

Hi folks. Wondering if anyone else has had the same issue as me and how you sorted it.
I have an 04 Mk1 ZR 3 door and the passenger door won't unlock. The central locking is working ok from the fob and I can hear the mechanism working in the passenger door but it doesn't allow the door to unlock. Even lifting the button on the door doesn't work and actually flops back down again. I'm assuming there is a break somewhere in the mechanism that's connecting to the lock itself. My problem is that the door is closed, so has anyone any ideas as to how to get the door card off without damaging it or the door so I can get inside the door?

Sounds like the dead lock hasn't come off unfortunately that's all internal to latch in the door

I had the CDL fail the same day I jump started the car.
Neither door would unlock to start with, I had to do a dukes of hazard maneuver to get out.... then had to climb back in to shut the window, eventually jumping out the boot (which would still unlock as normal).

On research I discovered I had blown one of the relays in the SCU.

Thanks lads but it turns out I must have a gremlin in the door!! It's working again!!!! weird
