Hi have just become the proud owner of a MG ZR can some one tell me if its a mrk 1 or mrk 2 its a 1.4 on a 03 plate 2013-08-29 09.52.55.jpg

Your car is a MK1 (2001-2004)

A mk2 looks like this (mid 2004 onwards):

No problem, the mk1 tends to be more popular but there were also a lot more made. It's really just personal preference

Pretty much all the mk1 parts will bolt onto a mk2 and vice versa so a lot of people mix and match bits.

Really like the look of the mk2 but the quality had somewhat dropped by the time they were constructed
