Posting Items - Alternative to RM

Mods/Admin - not sure where to put this

Seen a similar post on another website so i thought id put together a post.
Sending things with Royal Mail has got real expensive recently, buyers being put off purchasing items due to high postage costs.
Please beware that there are mixed reviews on all couriers, so please research before hand.
I personally have packaged up items well and posted with no problems using a number of couriers.

If sending high value/fragile goods, I would use a good courier with Insurance (this may cost you extra but will cover you if item is lost or damaged)

The main couriers I have used are
http://www.parcel2go.com/ Couriers used - FedEx, City Link, Parcelforce, Palletforce, UPS, TNT, Hermes, Yodel, Collect+, CitySprint
http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/ Couriers used - DHL, City Link, Parcelforce, Parcelmonkey
    https://www.myhermes.co.uk
    http://www.collectplus.co.uk/
    http://www.paisleyfreight.com/

My Hermes and Collect+ offer a "drop off" service such as your local shop or petrol station, to drop your parcel off without having to wait in for courier to collect. Ideal, if like me, you work a 9-5 job.

Your nearest MyHermes collection point can be found here - https://www.myhermes.co.uk/wps/porta...A%20ParcelShop

your nearest Collect+ point can be found here
    http://www.collectplus.co.uk/orders/new

Prices will vary between parcels2go and parcel monkey so i cant list the prices but below are myhermes and collect+ prices.
At the time of writing this, Myhermes offer a 25% discount using code CLTNS14 (For new customers/new email addresses)

All these courier offer a tracking service so you give this to your buyer when you have dispatched the items.

[My Hermes Standard (2 days): Drop off to a shop - £4.20
My Hermes Economy (3 days): Have collected from home - £4.20]

    Posting alloy wheels

You can send alloy wheel using Paisley Freight
    Prices are listed here http://www.paisleyfreight.com/alloy-wheel-courier.php

    For Very Large weighed/sized items

Several sites are handy for arranging cheap delivery of larger items. http://www.anyvan.com/, http://www.shiply.com/ and http://www.uship.com/uk/ allow couriers and deliverers to bid for your custom, which can mean good deals on moving big parcels. These services work the same way; they allow couriers and larger-scale hauliers to sell spare capacity in their vans and lorries. This means extra efficiency and cash for them, and a cheaper, greener service for you. While Anyvan and Shiply don't charge any fees to users, uShip does so always make sure you factor these in before you accept a bid.

If your based in London you could use Removal company London's man and van removals service they deliver cheap parcels and courier deliveries all throughout Greater London and surrounding M25 areas.
