    ZR 105 disc overheating.

    Hi lads,
wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem.

I took my ZR for a quick spin the yesterday in celebration of getting insured

Anyway, after a while the car developed a rubbing noise, almost sounded like a stone in the tyre but metallic.

When I got home the right front disc was glowing red and there was smoke coming off it.

Anyone know what could be causing the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Ciarán

From what I understand the 105s discs are prone to over heating under heavy braking. take it u were drivin slowly lol.

Sounds like your pads have burnt down to the metal backing. I'd get the wheel off and check the caliper, pads and no doubt your disc will be buggered too.

sounds like either you were driving like an ass, calliper binding, or its just backing plate but some epic grooves would have appeared... so you need to swap discs and pads as they will have become glazed reducing braking dramatically

I wasnt driving like a ass. I refrained from heavy braking etc. Plus it was only a 5min drive.
    Thanks for the advice.
