    Boot floor

    Hi guys,

I have a question about boot floors.

I currently have a bit of wood with a cut-out handle, it's crap.

I have bought foam wadding and faux leather as I intended to line the boot floor with wadding, and cover in the faux leather. Thus, giving it a nice look, but also it would have the wadding to provide comfort for the hostages held in the boot from time to time.

My question is, can anyone help with the size of the wooden floor?

As it needs to be snug fit so it doesn't shake about, etc. But small enough to actually get it in and out.

I can't line it/make it pretty until the wood is the right size.

    Cheers

You could do with finding another guy near you who has a zr so you can draw round his as a template. I put a new boot floor in with a 15" sub built in and used my original boot floor as a guide.

I have the OE carpet which is what I used as a template for my newer carpet. But as it goes inwards at the arches doesnt that make it unable to get it and out if the wood floor was the same size/shape.

But yeah good idea.. my dad has a zr too haha!!

The wood floor is slightly smaller than the carpet to allow it getting in past the arches. It really only covers the spare wheel well hole and a bit more and the carpet holds it all in position. You could make it hinge in middle maybe if you wanted it to totally fill all the boot floor. Or square it off it arches. So it just slips past them.

    Ok cool, thanks.

I was thinking of 2 bits with hinges actually, then thought about 3 parts as well.. etc

I just thought there must be an easier way to make it look/be better haha

    Thanks

Is it the same boot floor as on the Rover 25? I know that this is an old thread but somebody may still be watching

Well that was quite easy (and lucky), I got the last one from a local dealer Rover Link in Widnes, I picked up a few other bits while I was there
