Car of the Week 1 Winner: Ashas_ZR

Car of the Week Winner: Ashas_ZR

"Congratulations to Ashas_ZR the winner of this weeks competition!"

Ashley known as Ashas has been a part of the MG community for a vast amount of years now, even before then he owned a Brotherly Rover.
His first MG ZR was a Trophy Blue MK1 1.4 which was his pride and joy, this was until he saw the spectacular Yellow MK1 160 VVC engined MG ZR, the car he owns today.
All the craftsmanship done to the car was by himself or with the help from another enthusiast. The car is very well maintained and tastefully modified, the advancement of the car in the past 12 months is outstanding and i'm sure it will continue. Have a read below of the well earned 'Car of the Week'.

    The exterior lighting consists of:

    Trophy Rear Lights
SMD White Side Lights (Surface Mount Device)
    Upgraded Number plate lights
    Upgraded Interior light
    Door Handle Lights

Ashley is a big fan of the Flaked paint so when he picked up some 17" BSA alloys his intentions were to go Black with a gold metal flake which looks outstanding but also very unique to the modifying world of ZR's.

    Full spec:
    100W Headlights
    ABC Smoked Front Indicators
LCR splitter, Gloss Black with Gold Metal Flake
17" BSA 5 spokes, Gloss Black with Gold Metal Flake.

By adding subtle changes in Black and Yellow, such as Front, Rear, Steering wheel and Centre caps badges; Ashley managed to integrate his own colour scheme to the OEM parts of the car.
Then to follow the flaked theme throughout an -Tech strut brace in gloss black and gold metal flake was added, for sturdiness and improved steering.
To enhance performance a BMC CDA was fitted with a 76mm cold air feed down to the front lower grill and a Yellow Samco hose from the back of the BMC to the throttle body.

    Other Exterior addons:
De-Wipered for a smooth looking rear
    Aero Front Wipers

    Interior Modifications:
Arm rest from a rover coupe with black lid for comfort.
To remove the dull look of the standard plastics the Door Pull, Lock Surround, Tweetercover, dial surround, clock surround, heater vents, centre console, arm rest and dash pockets were sprayed gloss black.
Also the Centre console, Arm rest, Centre Vent and Clock surround have Gold/Teal flake added to it.

Black leather Gear Gaitor with Yellow Stitching
Front and Rear Door Cards and Parcel Shelf re trimmed in Black Leather

Roof Lining re trimmed in Midnight Suede.

    ABC pillars in Matte Black
MK2 Rear including; Rear Bumper & Bootlid.

    Other Modified Tastes:
Boot Popper wired to the Rear Wiper for ease of access.
    Tinted Rear Side Wndows (Smoked).

I.C.E - May the bass go boom

Fusion twin 12" subs with Fusion Amp

Ashley decided he needed an upgraded set of Brakes so recently he managed to pick up a Bargain set of Mintex front Drilled, Grooved and Vented 282mm disc with Mintex pads. These have been a worthy addition to the car and grab alot better when braking.

To match also Mintex Rear Drilled and Grooved 260mm discs with Mintex pads

    Stance & Styling
All four Calipers have been painted in yellow
To complement the cars Sporty look it has been Lowered 30mm on Apex Springs.

I would like to Thank Ashley for his addition to the Modifying World of MG ZR's and to carry on the Good Work!

To ensure having a chance of being the 'Car of the Week' please put your name down for Next Weeks entries.
