Definitely, its amazing how expensive it can get to stay competitive!

This is turning into a good thread

What I do: Specialist Instructional Officer for REME Aviation

What it means? Teaching Army Appentices with little or no hand skills how to fix Helicopters without damaging themselves or the Aircraft. Sounds good but is highly repetitious!

What I used to do: IT Manager/IT Fixit guy for lots of companies, got bored though

What it really was: Far too much hassle for too little money

So I quit, spent 3 months as a full time house husband then...

What I do: Freelance IT Trainier/Lecturer/Accessability developer

What this really is: Lots of time travelling, developing and delivering courses, testing new stuff or new combinatins of old stuff (Like matching up XBox Kinect with laptop to allow people with limited movement to create music and/or art, even if they only have use of something like their tongue or eyelids). The travel can be a pain, especially as I'll be in Dudley for 3 weeks and will only see my family on weekends, but the job itself is great.

I work the night(ish) shift at the local supermarket making sure you're all paying the right price for your groceries and setting up promotions and such. Believe it or not it's one of the least boring jobs in the place.
