Car of the Week 2 Winner: SteveMG

Car of the Week 2 : SteveMG

    MGZR-OC:
"Car of the week this week is 'SteveMG', his BRG MK2 ZR has been modified to high quality standards and incorporates some very unique and impressive touches. Congratulations Steve, this is one ZR to be proud of."

I have been in the MG world for just over two years and have owned my British Racing Green MK2 ZR from the start. It has changed a lot over the years of owning it. The car was standard when I first got hold of the car and on 38,000 miles had low mileage and was a very tidy example so just had to get my hands on it! A lot of thought and effort has gone into this car to keep the car looking as original as possible but with a few tweaks here and there.

    Exterior Mods

First thing to look at was a new set of alloys after looking around for a couple of months noticed that the Gridspokes were never kept so decided to get them powdercoated black by the wheel specialists, also had all four wrapped in some new Kumho tyres and some green MG centre caps
    Heko Wind Deflectors,
Debadged and dewipered at the rear for that smooth look and added bosch flat blades to the front,
New BRG front Badge to replace the old standard badge,
    Front and Rear pressed plates,
    MG Carbon Door Guards,
HIDS 8k dipped and led sidelights,
LCR Front Splitter that was bought from a local seat garage and cut to size and fitted,
Fog Surrounds Painted Gloss Black and fog lights located and fitted,
JDM Style Tegiwa Tow Hook Sprayed BRG
Got some Trophy Rear Lights really suited the colour of the car and got some silvertec bulbs to get rid of the Fried egg look.

    Interior

After coming across a set of front and rear Cream Leather seats I had a road trip to get them and once saw them in the flesh they had also been stitched in a green that matched my car.
Full Cream Leather Front and Rear seats
    Cream leather doorcards,
    Upgraded LED Interior Bulb
    Custom Xpower Gearknob
    Uprated Pioneer Door Speakers
    Tailored Black Car Mats
    Sony Xplod Headunit.

    Suspension & Exhaust

Lowered 30mm on black avos to stiffen the car up and make a good handling car even better, mixed in with a front Strut brace that has been sprayed the same colour as the car,
Full Sportex catback exhaust system with rolled backbox and S/S Decat.

    Brakes

Brakes have been uprated to the 262mm 120 discs and pads and have had the callipers painted Green.

    Under The Bonnet

BMC CDA induction kit with cold air feed,
Black Sillicone Elbow attached to Throttle Body,
    Rocker Cover Painted Gloss Black,
    BRG Strut Brace

"All in all I love this car! Have a few more plans that I would like to do VVC, rear disc conversion and get my other set of wheels refurbed." - 'SteveMG'

Well the cream really suits the car, especially with the door cards being cream too!

I will have to keep my eye out, or somehow become a seat maker ha!
