    Just bought an MGF

Paid the HUGE amount of £230 for it, but it does need a head gasket. Having just done 2 in the last 3 months it shouldn't be a problem getting it sorted.

I've got a MGF as well as the ZR, cracking little car for the summer, rear wheel drive rubbish for the bad weather.

Brilliant cars. That looks a lovely colour. I've had three of them and they are ace to drive. Excellent purchase!

Ditch the expansion bottle cap and get a 'new' OE one. Replace it annually as a service item. Fit a set of Osram Nightbreakers and a set of spray washer jets from a Pug/Citroen instead.

Check the ride height, roughly 3 fingers worth of gap between the top of the tyre and the top of the wheel arches is about right. If yours has a plastic or 48mm throttle body fitted it is worthwhile chucking it and fitting the 52mm version. There is also a mod re: the wiper arms which is worth doing. Has it got steel or stainless under floor pipework? S/S is recommended. Pop over to the MGF Register forum and introduce yourself.

    Ken
