    Blower Problems

    Hi all

Got an issue with my blowers...

They work on 3 and 4 just not 1 and 2. I purchased a new heater control unit and swapped out the switch but still the same am i gonna have to take off the entire dash to see if there is an issue with the motor? Thanks

You'll love the answer to this!

It'll take you around 15 mins and £5 to fix!

If you remove the glove box (2x 10mm bolts underneath.
Then remove the bar across (makes for easier access)
On the left is a little black box with a wiring plug going into it.
Inside the box is a 4 way resistor.
4 way - 4 fan speeds (see where this is going?)
replace the resistor and put it all back together.

Quite a common problem on these.
I'd recommend a new resistor with a ceramic coating, they last longer

ok so i got the Glove Box out and low and behold i find the Resistor completely burnt through on 2 of the 3 sides. I have now completely removed.

On another not I do not have Air Conditioning. When i popped open the pollen filter slot there was nothing in there.... Is this just for AC cars or should i have one?

some came with them fitted, some came without.
Both of mine have them in, but only 1 has AC lol

Pollen filters are about £4 from Euro Car Parts.
(see my thread for an awesome pollen filter mod )
