Well unfortunately weather didnt play ball this weekend but got a fair bit done on Saturday so fingers crossed should be at POL. Anyway while the weather was bad today i got the loom made that will link the engine to the engine bay fuse box and into the car. Just need to test fit it to make sure everything is the right length and i havent missed anything before covering it with flame and fluid resistant heat shrink....

Just a quick one to keep thread going. Unfortunately due to work and kids party's at weekends still running behind but not far off now just the final bits of wiring, coolant pluming and exhaust to sort and should be there i think.

Another few of wiring, hoping to have it finished this week still waiting on the Deutsch crimpers to come so can get the multi plugs on....

Ive also booked the car in my local car show "the haynes 100" (idea is to have a car from each year covering 100 years) in June to cover 1993

Well started what i thought was going to be a easy job today. Thought i would get the Coupe bonnet flatted and grill holes sorted ready to get painted next week so flatted the top coat down....

But once i took off the top coats found a few touch up and poor repairs.....

2018-05-06_09-39-55 by John Quincey, on Flickr

So had to take those spots back to bear metal and add a skim of filler....

Then flatted again followed by a coat of high build primer...

2018-05-06_09-42-06 by John Quincey, on Flickr

Then the joys of a wet flat of first 1200 followed by another wet flat of 2000 to get it nice and smooth.....

So after best part of the day its really for the body shop but bearing in mind its only getting used on track and will most likely be stoned chipped first time probably been a waste of time.

Bit more done today just getting wiring finished hoping to get the ignition on tomorrow at last....

First off adding the Solder sleeve's onto the shielded cables to allow any noise to travel to earth for the Lambda and crank sensor signals. I dont run a cam sensor on mine engine so only 2 needed....

IMG_20180510_205342 by John Quincey, on Flickr

Few of the plugs and terminals using gold plated terminals for all sensor signals and standard for power and grounds....

IMG_20180509_211736 by John Quincey, on Flickr

Adding in the splices for common power and grounds and covered with Motorsport Raychem spec ES2 end caps.....

IMG_20180509_211716 by John Quincey, on Flickr

For the join between the engine bay and inside ive used Motorsport spec Deutsch DT Series plugs so should the engine need to come out i just need to disconnect the plugs and all wiring from the engine and engine bay fuse box etc will come all together nice and easy with the engine with all sensor signals on 1 plug, powers and ground on the other 24 pins in total. The plugs are mated male to female, female to mate so i cant mis-match them and blow the ecu.....

And finally i stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and sprayed the Alternator as everything else has been done....

Little update, ive changed the Lotus Cam Cover to a Rover unit and was a bit bored today so made a little YouTube video. I also wired in the ABS warning light in as a shift light which comes on at 6500 rpm on the "road map" and 7300 rpm on "track map"....
