Had a good day on car today, went through it front to back, replaced engine/gearbox oil and the brake fluid, checked everything was tight etc. Also redone the wheel alignment set the rear too -2.5 degrees camber, toe +.5 per side so see how iit goes.

Well first trackday is over and pleased to say still no problems to report. Struggled with the car in terms of handling was a bit of a dog to get turned in and hold the line due mainly i think the amount of body roll, the rear end was fairly loose too but in fairness the car is still not on coilovers and still a fair way from any finished project. All in all tho i came back with a feel for the car and the many things i need to improve but i was quite surprised how far off the ZR's pace it was.

Went over to Avo Suspension today and picked up a set of these which should help the handling a fair bit (i hope)....

I went for a set of R1's with B&G adjustable top mounts which are the entry level race units with single bump/rebound. I didnt see the point of paying another £1000 for the R2's with Independant bump rebound adjustment as i cant image i would be able to fine tune them enough to get the very best out of them.

Finally got the coilovers and top mounts on, just set them up with a tape measure for now but will get the car set up on corner weight sales at some point. Just going to let it all settle in for now them will redo the wheel alignment but first impressions are really good, on the road with the bump and rebound on the softest settings it rides better than the ZR/ZS dampers i was using before. Should be back at Bedford Autodrome in January to test them with the MG/Lotus owners club see if its all been worth it.

Had the cut most of the inner sections of the turrets out to get the -4 degrees as in the Rover Sport manual as per Dunlop Cars but think i will go for -3 degrees when do the alignment again.
