215 tyres - will they fit?

Hi all, I am sprinting and hillclimbing my 160 and looking to get some track tyres but struggling to find anything suitable in 205 section. There are more options in 215/45/17 size and was wondering if anyone had tried this size on a ZR before?

The car has been lowered, not sure by how much. If necessary I am prepared to fit longer wheel studs and spacers.

    Any help appreciated.

Ok, that's a bummer! Thanks John. Just on standard shocks and there are some black rubber marks on them already. Not sure if they have come from standard tyres or whether someone tried fitting the 215's before?

Didn't really want to go to the expense of fitting the coilovers. I fitted the Gaz Gold to my ZS180 and wasn't overly impressed for the money.

I not tried gaz mate run AVO R1's on the 200 must say I'm really happy with them. The trouble with the standard front leg is there's not much room between the wheel and the leg but also the top of the tire and the spring cup. I tried 215's standard and they rubbed but so did 205 620 17 race tyres or low only very slightly on track

    Ok, thanks John.

I have seen some AVO's on ebay and was wondering what they were like. They seem more like the Gaz Gold spec but at the basic Gaz price. My main concern is finding something that works well on the road (as I drive to the events, anything up to 140 miles) and on track. The standard (albeit lowered) set up I have seems a very good compromise and don't want to wreck the on-road ride.

Have you tried the AVO's on road or is yours purely track driving?

Yes mate on road and track as like you I drive to circuit. On road with the damping on full soft it's more less drives as standard but at the moment I'm still running fairly soft springs. All tho since fitting adjustable top mounts with bearings there's a slight knock over bumps in the road that wasn't there with the factory top mounts
