air collecting

my car went in for a early MOT and it had a small over heat but never went 3/4 of the way as fan cooled it down, since then my car has started holding air and i found my top hose of the engine to radiator was leaking(drops) from the T connector, can i ask would this suck in air to cause the air lock or could it be the head again? i removed the ball from the purge valve as mg dealer said to do and try that but still the same.

I can order the complete hose for 10$ but if the head is the problem i'll just scrap the car.
