    Fright Night at Eastern Creek

    OK you asked for it ... actually you didn't, but here it is anyway:

    a couple of weeks ago by invitation (and OK, a big pile of cash changing hands) I went to a "Tracknight" at 'Eastern Creek' - this was run by HSRCA {Historic Sports and Racing Car Association}. They didn't seem to mind too much about any perceived lack of Historicalness (should that be Historicalocity?) - there was even a 2017 McLaren there. So despite the instigator being a 'French Car' nut and trying to twist my arm to bring one of my French and Fantastic cars I decided that the lumbering giant of a Peugeot 505 Stationwagon (weighs about the same as Wales before you put anything inside it) - and the only Frenchy in my collection thats not U/S at the moment - was perhaps not the right horse for that course. The ZR was therefore pressed into service.

    Now I'd never previously driven on track {unless you count go-karting} before and after signing in / safety briefing I learned that the format was to be "dummy grids" assembled off-track then file out onto the circuit in order. We all had wristbands with a number imprinted which was supposed to be your grid placement - I had number two - behind a full race prepared 'Suzuki Swift {it was} at 'One' with a load of rapid looking machinery snapping at my heels from the getgo, oh and right at the start of the evening there was a short, sharp, intensive shower or two just to spice things up

    probably most of the field arrived on a trailer but there were some {like me} who needed the car after to get home

    So here's the "Launchpad"

    and a bit later a "Flypast" {guess what - I'm last in that }

    and from inside the car {yes I know the date's all wrong }

    and just in case you really have nothing better to do {dunno - lockdown or something}

    What more? Oh, alright

    That's all Folks

    whoops not quite all - the results:
