    ZR160 Clock repair?

I have heard that the digital clock is able to be repaired - it only shows a "1", sometimes nothing.
I have also seen somewhere on this MGZR group, that you can "iron the multi-cable" (?).
Is this correct? And if so, it would need to be disconnected from the clock "face" and the electronic board.
But then how do you re-attach the cable?
    Anybody had any success?
As I'm in New Zealand, there are very few ZRs around, and none being dismantled.
    Any help really appreciated.
